Sixties Documentary "Tonite Let's All Make Love In London" Feat. Pink Floyd To Be Released on CD & Limited Edition Pink Vinyl!

Newly remastered from the original master tape!
London - The British film director and pop promo auteur Peter Whitehead's kaleidoscopic 1967 documentary is a vivid and controversial snapshot of the height of London's “Swinging” era.

Featuring interviews with a diverse selection of iconic figures in British and international pop culture – from artists such as David Hockney and Alan Aldridge, through to actors such as Michael Caine and Julie Christie, the author Edna O’Brien, Beat Poet and writer Allen Ginsberg, and Rolling Stones manager and founder of Immediate Records, Andrew Loog Oldham, the movie is rightly regarded as both a celebration and critique of the London “Summer of Love”.

At its heart was a soundtrack album which featured renditions of “Interstellar Overdrive” by The Pink Floyd, “Here Come The Nice” by Small Faces, and contributions from the enigmatic Vashti Bunyan, Brit blue-eyed soulster Chris Farlowe and vocal duo Twice As Much.

Newly remastered from the origin…

New Age Instrumental Review: Timothy Wenzel-What We Hold Dear

Release Date: April 25, 2017 Label: Coyote Floe Music LLC Website
What Timothy Wenzel states is so true: “One of the most important lessons in life is to learn to concentrate on what we have rather than what we don’t have.As a reminder of that I titled my new album What We Hold Dear and each of the musical themes reflects various aspects of life that are especially meaningful to me.” In January of this year I covered Perpetual Motion-RearView featuring a phenomenal violin player name Josie Quick. Timothy very wisely made Ms. Quick a part of his What We Hold Dear album as well asJordan Schug, who was a great addition on Cello. Timothy is a former scientist turned musician. That I would say is one of those paradigm shifts of life that immediately makes an impact on all concerned. Fortunately, those of us that enjoy contemporary music of the new age instrumental flavor, become the immediate benefactors of this enormous change one individual went through. There is always a story behind the mus…

Music Legend Todd Rundgren's Notre Dame Artist in Residence Mini-Documentary

Rundgren started his Spirit of Harmony Foundation a few years ago to help bring music back into schools - http://spiritofharmony.org. A few months ago he accepted an invitation from Notre Dame University to conduct a week-long Artist In Residence music program, on the condition that it highlight the Foundation.

Notre Dame just completed the following mini-documentary on his week on campus (and off campus):

The iconic songwriter, recording artist, producer and innovator released his critically acclaimed new album “White Knight” on May 12 via Cleopatra Records. The 15-track collection features a dynamic range of original songs and deft studio work by Rundgren, with an impressive array of what he terms “collaborators”, including Dam Funk, Donald Fagen, Daryl Hall, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails, Bettye LaVette, Robyn, Joe Satriani, and Joe Walsh.

Label: Sony
Release Date: April 22, 2017 Website
Record Store Day 2017 had some significant releases. One of the more interesting and thought provoking releases was Sony’s 2 LP set of Dennis Wilson’s unfinished second solo album.

The title is Bambu-The Caribou Sessions. As I recall I was not too impressed with Pacific Ocean Blue the first time I heard it but now I must go back and give it another try after hearing this release.

Wilson’s vocals reminded of the late Joe Cocker at times. His deep throaty style would have been perfect for a blues band. As it turns out the recording is one of the most eclectic I have ever heard coming from any Beach Boy, including brother Brian.

Sony did a great job of filling in the gaps and making this a final complete release. I heard rock, pop, blues and a few ballads. Wilson covered it all and I cannot help but think what a wonderful career he would have had if he stayed with us. He lost his battle to the bottle unfortunately and ended up being another r…

Critically Acclaimed 1971 Film "Extremes" Feat. Soundtrack By Supertramp And Others Now Available For Pre-Order!

London - Available for the first time on CD and DVD, “Extremes” is the 1971 film Directed by Tony Klinger, Mike Lytton. It covers the whole gamut of present day human behaviour, from carefree pop fans bathing nude at the Isle of Wight to withdrawn, pathetic junkies hastening their own deaths with hard drugs. Such is the range encompassed by the so-called “permissive society”, doubly significant because it usually involves young people who have either never known discipline or are rebelling against an overdose of it. They can't change society so they have no alternative but to drop out from it. In some of the most natural and remarkable film footage ever obtained, Tony Klinger and Michael Lytton have captured a unique cross-section of them going their chosen ways, and talking freely and frankly about doing so. Nothing was pre-arranged, nothing rehearsed: everything was filmed as it happened. Hippies, junkies, Hell's Angels, alcoholics, drop-outs - all fall into the category of…

Metal Review: Crazy Lixx-Ruff Justice

Release Date: April 21, 2017 Label: Frontiers Music Website
For the past decade, Swedish hard rock band Crazy Lixx have released a steady stream of quality music. Attempting to bring life to a genre that’s seen better days, Crazy Lixx has not only succeeded in those goals, but currently sits on top the throne as one of the most recognizable modern hair metal bands. After a tumultuous year in 2015, Crazy Lixx has reinvented themselves with a new lineup and has taken a fresh stab at their trademark 80’s style rock n’ roll. And for any of those worried that a lineup change compromises their knack for writing big choruses, catchy guitar riffs, and blazing guitar solos, you can rest assured – this album is good, real good.

Ruff Justice kicks off with the dark n’ dirty “Wild Child,” which after the first listen had me reaching for my guitar in an attempt to transcribe the song. I’ve always felt that the difference between “good” music and “great” music is that great music makes you want to get …

New PledgeMusic Campaign For Roger Glover's "Butterfly Ball" 2017 Directors Cut Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set!

Feat. David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord, Ian Gillan, John Lawton, Eddie Jobson, Vincent Price and others!
London – A new PledgeMusic campaign has been started for Deep Purple legend Roger Glover's “Butterfly Ball” 2017 Directors Cut Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set to be released on Gonzo Multimedia!

“The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast” is a concept album and subsequent live rock opera appearing in 1974 and 1975 respectively, based on the children's poem of a similar title. The work was originally conceived as a solo vehicle for Jon Lord to be produced by Roger Glover who had recently left Deep Purple. However, Lord proved too busy with Deep Purple and Glover took up the reins on his own. Using his connections, Glover recruited a large cast of noted rock musicians to perform on it, with a different vocalist for each character, including David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes.

On 16 October 1975, a one-off performance at the Royal Albert Hall took place. Again it …

Rock-Blues-World Review: Santana-Lotus (Hybrid SACD)

Release Date: January 6, 2017 Label: Audio Fidelity Website
Iwant to start by saying that I am big fan of Santana and most of his musical output. I have a lot of his catalog at my immediate disposal.I have also been one of those people that believe his earlier lineups were the most original and progressive. I personally enjoy the first three albums the most, which enabled me to appreciate everything that came after that in different ways. With a new set of ears and looking inward spiritually, I would consider what he was presenting. When he started getting more commercial is when many people may have lost interest. I think I have heard one album that I thought was mediocre in over 30 years, so not a bad track for my listening tastes. This is my preference and opinion of course. To each his own as they say.

Anyone familiar with Santana knows about Lotus. As notated on the Audio Fidelity site: Lotus is a 1974 live album by Santana, recorded at the Osaka Koseinenkin Hall, Osaka, Japan in 197…

New Age/Contemporary Instrumental Review: Timothy Crane-The Fall of a Sparrow

Genre: New Age/Contemporary Instrumental Release Date: 2017 Label: Independent Website
This is my first exposure to Timothy Crane’s music. The Fall of a Sparrow is as prolific as it may sound. It can be a cross reference to many instances in life if you think about it for a moment. Leonard Cohen came to mind when I looked at the title. I am fond of his poetic music and was saddened by his passing. In this case that was a fallen sparrow for me.

Timothy is an expert with the ivory keys and the additional instruments added to the mix play an important role as well. The viola for instance is like the violin. It provides a certain melancholy and atmosphere that accentuates the pace of the piano and the mood that is being projected onto the listener.

The orchestration of the tracks is a good mix and the opening track “Albion” is an electrifying way to get a listener’s attention. I felt uplifted by the richness and images of the track. It truly was an epic beginning to a very strong recording.

I lo…
