Review - The Irontown Diehards

The good old days of hard rock aren’t over – Belfast band The Irontown Diehards are proof of that. Having all been in previous rock bands, the members are all virtuosos when it comes to this game. The result is some of the catchiest anthemic hooks and some of the most badass riffs you’re likely to hear this year.
There are stomping bluesy numbers such as ‘Sick’ and airy ballads such as ‘Fly High’ that feel reminiscent of classic acts like Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi and Motley Crue. However, there are also some more left-field numbers that give Irontown Diehards their own individual sound such as ‘Long Road Home’ with its spacey slide guitar.
Vocalist Phil Dixon meanwhile has the perfect snarling tone and delivers belting hook after belting hook, the kind that you want to bellow out whilst driving down the motorway.
Overall, this is a solid selection of tracks from the Ulster collective, and a must-listen for any diehard rock fan.
