Hawkwind Co-Founder Nik Turner Pilots A New Video From His Groundbreaking New Album Space Fusion Odyssey!

Los Angeles, CA - “I have traveled far from another place…come to learn from your race…” Nik Turner intones at the outset of “Adjust The Future,” the lead off track from his forthcoming space-rock/jazz-fusion magnum opus Space Fusion Odyssey, scheduled for launch on October 16. The track, like the album as a whole, features Turner’s complex, jazzy improvisations on saxophone with support provided by an insanely talented and diverse group of musicians including Steve Hillage and Gilli Smyth of ‘70s prog legends Gong as well as Chris Poland of metal giant Megadeth and Jürgen Engler of German industrial band Die Krupps. The video mixes footage of Turner with some mindblowing experimental video manipulations that harken back to the psychedelic backdrops Turner’s former band Hawkwind would frequently perform in front of.

Check out the video for “Adjust The Future” here:

Space Fusion Odyssey is without a doubt the most musically ambitious undertaking Turner has ever attempted, stretching h…

Russell Suereth Releases Video Documenting Spiritual Haven Album

September 1, 2015-New York, NY-With the release of Spiritual Haven this year recording artist Russell Suereth broke new ground. Entering the world of new age and world music was big change for the former rock and pop artist. That step has brought the artist to new heights and success in the world of recordings.

The album features 12 diverse and moving tracks that engage the senses and allow you look inward and find yourself in another time and place.
Russell Commented: I wanted to provide my listeners with something that would really help them see the story in the album. I had done a few radio programs about the journey inside the album, but I didn’t feel that it really hit home for my listeners.
So along those lines he decided to engage his audience and potential listeners through a video storybook.

Russell wanted to have the story narrated and felt having another voice tell the story was more appropriate. A friend suggested Steve Sheppard of One World Music and things began to take sha…

Los Angeles Hard-Rockers Bulletboys Release New Video "Rollover"

Hollywood, CA - Los Angeles hard-rockers BULLETBOYS have just wrapped up final touches on their brand new music video for the single “Rollover.” Taken from their latest album ELEFANTÈ (June 9th release, Deadline/Cleopatra Records) the song helped drive the album to reach the Top 10 in the Metal radio charts and has been a crowd-pleaser during the band’s summer 2015 tour.

The “Rollover” music video features voluptuous Playboy model Ivy Ferguson and plays off the dichotomous relationship between the artist who’s married to his music while simultaneously trying to keep his best gal happy. The sparks start to fly during the band’s live performance as the music and the tempestuous relationship reaches a fever pitch - all captured brilliantly by Director Diego Negrete.

Introducing: Metasic

Metasic are a 5 piece heavy rock band hailing from the wilds of South East England. The perfect band for all hard rock fans, Metasic has often been compared to the likes of Faith No More, Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails. Their songs are hard hitting and bruising with elements of punk and metal interspersed with classic rock themes. Their latest single ‘New Design’ is a jarring 3 minute epic, that transports you to the war torn cities of World War II era Nazi Germany. It is a really brutal track, not easy listening by any mean but at least its something different and interesting. Metasic are set to release ‘New Design’ at the end of the month.

New Age Review: Wouter Kellerman-Love Language

Release Date: August 28, 2015 Label: Listen 2 Africa Website

Wouter Kellerman is a flutist and composer that left tracks in the New Age music industry with his album Winds of Samsara, a collaboration with lndian composer and producer Ricky Kej. Winning a Grammy in 2015 for the album and multiple SAMA awards in his native South Africa, Kellerman secured his status as one of his country’s most prominent musicians. His new album Love Language brings to mind the book by Gary Chapman in which the author discusses the many ways love can be expressed. In this album, Kellerman reaches across the globe and reflects on how multiple cultures give and receive love in all of its forms. It is an electric album that captivated me from the first track. Love can be learned but most all love can be experienced.
From the first strains of “Aishwarya” to the ethereal “Shenandoah” the presence of Kellerman’s flute and world class musicians and artists brings each piece to glowing life. “Shenandoah” in particul…

Prog Rock Review: John Wetton-The Studio Recordings (Anthology)

Release Date:17th March 2015 Label: Primary Purpose Website

The Studio Recordings Anthology Volume 1 is a look back at the solo career of a man of whom it has been said “has been in more bands than many of us have had hot dinners,” and the man in question is John Wetton. A brief listing of his band involvements certainly gives a flavor of the variety of “jobs” he has had with Mogul Thrash, Family, King Crimson, Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, UK and Asia.

As to JW’s solo output, there are 10 studio albums listed from Caught In The Crossfire (1980) to Raised in Captivity (2011), 9 live albums from Chasing The Dragon (1995) to New York Minute (2015) and 5 compilation/box sets form Kings Road 1972-1980 (1987) to the album for review, The Studio Recordings Anthology Volume 1 (2015).

I would normally give an indication as to the band members involved in the review of an album, but as the contents of the release span 31 years, I feel it would be a thankless task, as well as taking up many pages.

The sele…

Singer / Songwriter Pete Kronowitt Releases Live Video For New Single Politically Charged "Change Is Gonna Come"

San Francisco, CA - San Francisco-based singer / songwriter Pete Kronowitt has released a video performance for his new politically charged song, "Change is Gonna Come," recorded live from the Cafe du Soleil in Lower Haight. The hopeful anthem was inspired both by the legends of American folk, as well as today's struggle for justice and equity. Pete co-wrote the song with Atlanta-based Chuck McDowell at a recent songwriting retreat in Crisfield, Maryland.

"Change is Gonna Come" is the most recent release from Kronowitt, an upbeat blend of The Lumineers and Bruce Springsteen channeling Woody Guthrie. With lyrics inspired by the most recent interview of social rights heroine Malala Yousafzai on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show, the song celebrates stories of strength, courage and action.

"Fifteen years in, this 21st century has been contentious and divisive: two wars, bitter elections leading to unproductive partisanship, and increasing economic disparity. …

Instrumental/Classical New Age Review: Karen Marie Garrett-It’s About Love

Genre: Instrumental/Classical New Age Release Date: July 4, 2015 Label: Waterstreet Records & Publishing, Inc. Website
Karen Marie Garrett is a nimble fingered pianist that combines elements of new age and classical to formulate beautiful solo instrumentals.

It’s About Love, her third studio release, is a 5 track recording that puts many things into focus. So what is Love? Simply put it is a timeless word that encapsulates many feelings and emotions. It can have several meanings dependent on who you are and what your own personal interpretation is.

Ms. Garrett has a gift of interpreting that powerful word through her music. The five tracks that encompass this EP is a spiritual experience that many people will treasure. Her talent is apparent from the very beginning and it is consistent throughout this recording. While 5 tracks may not seem like much in this day and age of CDs coming out with 16-20 tracks it certainly makes a strong impression in the allotted time. For these ears that is …

Clearwater, FL - Bass icon Jeff Berlin will be launching a Pledge Music Campaign on August 18th for a new tribute album to legendary Jack Bruce titled “Jeff Berlin Plays Jack Bruce: Songs For A Wailer”! Jack Bruce, best known for his work with classic rock legends Cream, as well as his critically acclaimed solo work, sadly passed away in 2014. Jeff Berlin, who has been called “the greatest bass player in the world”, was a personal friend of Jack's and felt the time was right for a tribute.

Says Jeff, “Recording the music of Jack Bruce will be the most emotional recording project of my career. Jack was the greatest musical influence I ever had. As an impressionable 14 year old bass player, I was stunned by Cream, literally in awe of the music that came from them. And, in the center of the music were these strange and wonderful bass lines weaving in and out of the key, reaching for resolutions and finding them, again, and again. J…

Alternative Rock Review: The Dreaming Tree-Silverfade

The Dreaming Tree, yet another new band to The Ancient One, is not “new” in the true sense of the word since they have been around for over 10 years. Formed way back in 2003/2004, this release, Silverfade, is the 5th to be issued following on from an early self-titled EP (2004), Grafting Lines and Spreading Rumours (2007), Unplugged One How To Sound Good Naked (2010) and Progress Has No Patience (2010).

The Dreaming Tree is a 5 piece band comprising Chris Buckler (vocals), Dan Jones (guitar, backing vocals), Neil Simpson (bass), Neil Ablard (drums) and Steven Barrett (keyboards).

Silverfade is a 14 track album with a total playing time of around 66 minutes. The longest track on offer is track 4, “Forever Not Forever” running on for 8:05 minutes, with track 8, “Jaded Summer Long,” the shortest on the album at under 2 minutes (1:39) in length.

The opening track on the album, Silverfade, “Yesterday’s Tomorrow” (3:41) starts with a solo piano then quickly bursts into chunky guitar chords wit…
